The North American Striped skunk is found through out Michigan.
It is nocturnal and eats many different things (omnivorous) like grubs, earthworms, insects, bird eggs, mice and other small
animals but in the metropolitan area they've become accustom to trash. Skunks are most commonly discovered by their incredibly
foul odor. This smell often seeps into a home in the middle of the night waking everyone up. Skunks however do not always
smell, used mainly as a defensive deterrent they can shoot a 6'long stream at what they consider a threat. Skunks also spray
during their breeding season, which in our area is from January through February. Usually from march until early June our
calls for skunks slow until the babies start to emerge from the burrow. Skunks do not climb but are extremely good diggers,
they prefer to burrow under a cement slab but will chose a deck if convenient. Trapping a skunk is best left to the professional's
mainly because of their ability to spray and ruin clothing, upholstery and just about anything else that contacts this lime
green liquid. With our Funnel trapping method we can remove skunks quickly and with our covered traps the skunks will remain
calm and unable to identify a threatening target. and in the event that they have sprayed we have products to remove their
odor effectively. For more information on skunk trapping call or send us an email today.

Woodchucks have a few names they go by like Ground hog, Marmots
and Whistle pig. These animals are often seen grazing in open fields and gardens during the daylight. They most often become
a nuisance when they nest under decks, patios, porches and landscaping stones or ravish gardens and small decorative trees.
They are most easily controlled in the spring after they awake from hibernation until the peak of the gardening season, its
not that they cannot be trapped when the gardens are in full bloom it just requires more creativity.

Opossums are probably our most captured animal, even if we weren't
trying to catch them. They are great opportunists looking for a free meal and an easy place to hide. Often times they will
get locked into a garage or fall in to a garbage can. Opossums can usually be trapped very easily however there can be some
tricky situations. Opossums have there babies in the spring like most other species however opossums being part of the marsupials
have a pouch were the babies will crawl into to nurse until they are weaned. If the mother is stressed it can cause a baby
to fall out of the mothers pouch often times ending up in a garage, deck or porch. Opossums can have a very large litter,
we've seen as many as 12 babies from one mother. Because of their opportunist nature they are more likely to live under a
deck or a hole under a porch then to climb into an attic. Opossums are usually slow to move when threatened and often times
choose to stand their ground and hope to scare away their intruder by rearing their large number of teeth. Although they will
bite if provoked most opossums are non-aggressive by nature. Opossums can cause damage to your garage or pose a threat to
your children and pets if they decide to nest in your yard, thus making removal necessary.
